UNC Charlotte's Counseling Center completed Part I: LGBTQ 101 training on Thursday, July 24, 2008. All the counselors and support staff came out for the training. Many of the counselors will return for Part II-IV: Ally Development. This was the first departmental training the program offered and it was extremely successful.
Please note that the only required departmental training is Part I: LGBTQ 101 and no individuals were required to attend Part II-IV: Ally Development and no individuals were required to become Allies in the program.
The Safe Zone Ally Program welcomes 20 new Allies to the program.
With the trainings held on July 18th-July 25th we successfully trained 20 new Allies. We would like to thank all the participants in taking time to become trained. We would also like to thank our co-trainers, Jeremiah Nelson, Liz Fitzgerald, and Terri Rhodes for their assistance.
